The Springfield Governors are a committee of the main board of the OMAT Trust. The Local Governing Committee meet formally once a term. Their key role is:

• To ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
• To hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
• To oversee the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

Governors visit the school regularly to monitor the school progress against planned actions in the School Development Plan, conduct informal visits to classrooms and those with specific roles meet with relevant staff members at least termly.
